The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner offers a foundational understanding of AWS Cloud concepts, services, and terminology. This is a good starting point for individuals in non-technical roles with no prior IT or cloud experience or for those with on-premises IT experience looking for basic AWS Cloud fluency. This certification can give candidates the confidence to tackle role-based AWS Certifications.
This exam validates an examinee’s ability to:
- Explain the value of the AWS Cloud
- Understand and explain the AWS shared responsibility model
- Understand security best practices
- Understand AWS Cloud costs, economics, and billing practices
- Describe and position the core AWS services, including compute, network, databases, and storage
- Identify AWS services for common use cases
Audience Profile
This exam is designed for candidates new to Cloud who may not have an information technology (IT) background. This exam is for line-of-business roles like sales, marketing, product or project management, to get a foundational understanding of AWS Cloud. Candidates for this exam could have up to 6 months of exposure to AWS Cloud, but this is not required.
